Current cookie position
Rust Hub currently uses an essential first-party session cookie to keep signed-in users securely authenticated. Rust Hub does not currently use advertising, behavioural-tracking or analytics cookies on rusthub.uk.
What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a website in your browser. They can be used for functions such as keeping you signed in, remembering preferences, measuring website use or supporting advertising.
Some cookies are removed when your browser session ends. Others can remain for a set period and are known as persistent cookies.
Cookies Rust Hub currently uses
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RUSTHUBSESSID | Rust Hub / rusthub.uk | Maintains the secure session used for Steam-authenticated Rust Hub account features. | Strictly necessary, first-party | Session |
Essential cookies
RUSTHUBSESSID is required to maintain a signed-in Rust Hub session and to protect authenticated account functions. Without this cookie, Rust Hub cannot reliably keep a user signed in while they move between account pages.
Because the cookie is used for functionality that is necessary to provide the signed-in service requested by the user, Rust Hub treats it as strictly necessary. It is not used for behavioural advertising or cross-site tracking.
Steam and third-party services
When you choose Sign in with Steam, Rust Hub redirects you to Steam for authentication. Steam/Valve may use its own cookies on Steam-controlled domains. Those cookies are set and controlled by Valve, not by Rust Hub.
The same principle applies if you follow links from Rust Hub to third-party websites or services such as Discord, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook or Instagram. Their own cookie and privacy policies apply on their services.
Controlling cookies
Most browsers let you view, delete or block cookies through their privacy or site-data settings. Blocking the Rust Hub session cookie may prevent Steam sign-in and other authenticated account features from working correctly.
You can also clear the Rust Hub session cookie by signing out and/or clearing site data for rusthub.uk in your browser.
Future cookie changes
If Rust Hub later introduces non-essential analytics, advertising or other tracking technologies, this Cookie Policy will be updated before those technologies are used. Where consent is required, Rust Hub will provide appropriate consent controls before setting non-essential cookies.
